Description
First performed in the 1928 musical “Whoopee!”, this well known tune has been given a simple, but effective treatment in the classic big band style. With the wealth of big bands around the world who focus on the swing era style, this arrangement will fit right into any set.
Starting with a groove that echoes the Nelson Riddle/Frank Sinatra arrangements, the melody is elongated and then released. After a brass bridge and standard A section come open solos, to feature any instrument. Your band will enjoy the mini section features after the solo section, which allow for a bass or drum solo. The chart ends with a shout chorus and tag in the original style, with a bass break to finish.
